Hold On To Your Hats!! Studio DIY Photoshoot

I am SO excited to finally be able to share this photoshoot I did with Studio DIY and this amazing group of girls!! If you follow me on Instagram you already know what I’m talking about. I sometimes work on special projects and am not allowed to share them until they go live. So as you can imagine I have literally been counting the days until Studio DIY would publish them on their blog and this week they finally did!!!

As you may or may not know, Studio DIY   is a creative lifestyle company dedicated to make life more FUN and COLOURFUL! I have followed them on IG for a long time and when they announced they were looking for a few gals to be part of their shoot I immediately jumped at the opportunity! The project was Kentucky Derby themed for the drink  Izze and it was without a doubt the most inspiring photoshoot I’ve ever been in! Before I continue, I want to be clear that these photos are not mine, they belong to Studio DIY and their talented team and I am beyond honoured to have been part of it (at least for a day )

Now, picture Alice in Wonderland mixed with Pinterest Heaven in a room full of creative hard-working people and you will get an idea of what my experience was! I applied a couple of weeks ago but I wasnt sure what to expect, so I was a bit nervous. But as I walked into their headquarters in DTLA, I immediately felt the energetic vibes being carried through the halls by their lively playlist. This made me feel more at ease. I knew I was too early, but I took a deep breath and walked into what seemed like a colourful madness! One that spread all over their walls, floors, desks and lounge area. Every inch of this place was covered by diy projects, funny props, racks of clothes, a table full of sweets and about 11 excited people setting up. Seeing how the rhythm of this place matched my usual mood, I walked up to Kelly Mindell and introduced my self. And just like that I completely relaxed! I spent the next few of hours trying on the funniest outfits, getting my hair and makeup done, getting to know these amazing girls excitedly standing next to me and simply having the best time with the crew! They made each and every one of us a unique hat to wear, mine was a giant milkshake (I loved it!!) and we all gathered around a brunch area styled to fit the vibrant product and basically let us enjoy it while they photographed us from different angles.

It was a truly inspiring experience. And I’m still overwhelmed with happiness that I got to be part of something as special as this! I truly hope that more exciting projects will come my way this year. Let me know how you like this fun setting…

Like I’ve said before, don’t ever be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and chase after what you really want! You never know where it may lead you. If Im being perfectly honest, I never thought they would pick me out of all the people who applied, but that didn’t stop me. And I’m so glad I went for it because I would have missed out on one of the best experiences I’ve had since I started blogging! So I hope this inspires you to get out there and do the same.

If you want to see how they made these amazing hats head over to their blog to see their tutorial and check out their original post. You can find it Here.

As always thank you so much for reading!
