Part 1: The Natural Remedies That Got Rid Of My Acne

Let’s talk about acne, everyone’s best friend. I’ve been sharing my experience with skincare for a few years now and have mentioned a couple of skincare products that have helped me but I’ve never really shared the natural remedies that got rid of my acne, so here go! There’s a lot to cover to be ready to take notes.

To give you some insight, I have combination skin and would mostly get acne on my forehead, also chin and neck area and I know the last two are more hormonal but these steps helped with that as well. My type of acne is mostly white heads with the occasional cystic acne on my cheeks and chin.

Okay so I did a few different things but I truly believe that the combination of all of them was key to getting rid of it. The first 3 are diet based and the next 3 are natural topical treatments so make sure you carefully read them all:

  1. I took a Food Intolerance Test + went Dairy free. I wrote a blog post last year on how and why I changed my diet so you can give it a read HERE to find out more details. But basically by taking this test, my doctor and I where able to pin point which foods were causing problems in my body such as Dairy, which turns out was a big contributor to my acne. There were many other foods that where causing me issues such as nausea, fatigue, rashes, among others and clearing those out of my system undoubtedly helped my skin, but I’ll focus on the one that helped the most with my acne. After I went diary free, I noticed my skin was less inflamed after the first week, I was shocked. The longer I kept staying away from dairy the less and less acne I started getting, and the ones I already had where healing so much faster so now I make it a priority. But whatever your trigger might be, I think a Food Intolerance Test is a good way of finding out which foods to avoid to have healthier skin.
  2. I cut Meat out of my diet for 6 weeks. Okay so this one was hard for me, but the results where crazy good. By eating tons of veggies, fruits, some legumes and Seitan and Tofu to get my protein, I got the healthiest looking skin of my life! I am not kidding or exaggerating, I’m no expert so I’m not sure of why this worked so well, but trust me it was like a re-boot for my skin. I started seeing results closer to 2 weeks in, of course it was specially good for my hormonal acne. My plan was to do it only for 4 weeks but after seeing how good my skin was doing, I decided to extend it for as long as I could. Obviously as you can tell, I only lasted 2 more weeks because I actually do love meat. But now knowing what I do, I’ve cut way back on red meat and eat mostly fish. Honestly my skin isn’t as nice as it was without meat in my diet but for now I can live with it.
  3. I incorporated Probiotics. If you eat tons of processed foods or those lacking in probiotics then you’re more prone to have gut problems. Gut health has an important role to play when protecting your skin from the damages of the outside world so again, you want to heal and nourish your skin from the inside out. For me it was a natural step to take because I went from consuming a lot of dairy products to none and my body was definitely feeling the change. That’s when I decided to update my probiotic source and found a daily supplement I could take. Now, I know there are many food sources where you can get probiotics but personally I’m not a fan of them, however if you find some you love go for it! But for those who prefer a pill like me, I bought some at Target and it’s worked great.
  4. I used Witch Hazel as Toner. I buy Thayers Witch Hazel Alove Vera Formula “Original” at my local market, it’s cheap and so soothing. It works as a natural astringent because it helps to remove oils (without getting that super dry feeling afterwards). It also calms down inflammation and acne areas, my skin even feels way smoother but one of the biggest changes for me is that evens out my skin tone! I feel like my SK-II Treatment Essence is also amazing at making my skin smooth and to even out my overall tone but at a MUCH higher price. I’m still a fan, but I mean it’s $99 vs $9.50 so it’s your choice. HOW TO APPLY: I use a cotton pad and moist it with Witch Hazel, then I gently pat all over my face, neck and chest. I leave it on just like I would any other toner.
  5. I used Tea Tree Oil as Spot Treatment. I’ve mentioned this before on the blog but I’ll officially say it again, this is the best natural way to spot treat acne. You should definitely dilute it with coconut oil or something similar before you apply it to avoid damaging your skin as it is strong, but it works wonders! HOW TO APPLY: I mix a bit of coconut oil and a drop of Tea Tree oil and apply it directly on my acne with a cotton swab and leave it on. Don’t over do it, just enough to cover. I realized that it helps to get rid of acne faster. Sometimes it will help it pop if it needs to and sometimes it simply takes it away before it even gets to that point. But either way it never fails to speed up the process. Also if the skin did brake I apply a bit extra afterwards to clean it and help it heal quicker! After doing this I saw that acne started to recur less and less.
  6. I used Raw Manuka Honey 15+. I buy this at my local Sprouts Market. Raw Manuka Honey is very moisturising on for the skin, it also has beneficial antioxidants and works as an antibacterial, so it leaves your skin feeling smooth and with fewer bacteria which means less chance of infected pores, which means less acne. BUT you do want to pay attention to the grading system so look for the UMF or MGO rating on the label. For acne purposes make sure you’re using a minimum of UMF 10+ or MGO 261+ (attention: not just a +number, it has to say UMF or MGO so you know it’s certified). I personally used UMF 18+ (in MGO grading it would be 692) to make sure I had enough levels of antibacterial properties and it worked great. HOW TO APPLY: Start with a clean face, wet your hands and lightly dab your face and neck so the honey applies easier. I used it as a mask on my face and neck 2-3 times a week for about 15-20min and rinsed off with water.
  7. Turmeric Drink before bedtime. I started making “Golden Milk” but used Oat Milk instead of dairy. You can also drink Turmeric Tea, I just like the Golden Milk recipe better, but the point is to fight off acne from the inside. Turmeric is well known as an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial and I found that by consistently drinking it my acne started looking much better. *I buy my Turmeric powder at an herb and spice shop in LA because I feel that it’s more reliable and potent than the ones you find in supermarkets, plus it’s cheaper. But I’ll leave that to your discretion. DIRECTIONS: 1) Pour 1 1/2 cups of the milk of your choice into a small pot on medium heat. 2) Add 1 tsp ground Turmeric, a pinch of black pepper (this activates the turmeric and helps your body absorb the curcumin), add 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (also an anti-inflammatory) and add honey to your liking. 3) Let it simmer for about 10min. Enjoy nice and warm! I would make this every night. Now that my skin is better I drink it about 3-4 times a week for it’s other benefits and to help me sleep.
  8. Staying consistent with a remedy. The thing with skin is that you have to give it time for things to work! The human body is AMAZING and it works really hard everyday to fight off infections, inflammations and basically to regenerate itself so naturally aside from needing to be properly nourished, it also needs TIME to adjust to a new skincare routine. So whether you’re trying these steps above or your own or any skincare product, please don’t give up after a week or two, try to be more patient. Believe me, if you’re switching remedies and products every week, nothing will work for you. I’m a firm believer than you have to give things at least 3 weeks if not a month to see and feel results. So staying consistent and simple with your remedies/routines is key, it truly helped me.

I made a conscious plan to follow all of these steps within the same time period and around month 3 I felt like I had new skin. I still get a pimple or two around my period but of course that can’t be avoided! So far though, my skin has been feeling so much better. To whoever might be reading this, I know it’s frustrating to live with acne and you can feel so discouraged and tired of nothing working for you but there’s always a solution out there so please don’t lose hope! I truly wish you find this helpful and if there’s natural remedies that have worked for you that I didn’t mention please comment below so we can all help each there out. Part 2 of this post will be up soon, so keep an eye for that. I send you all my best!!

My First Video + Youtube Channel

After a very, very, VERY long time of wanting to share video content on YouTube I am happy to say that I’ve finally done it! I posted my very first Video this past Sunday as a quick intro and plan on posting more from now on. I think for the longest time I was stuck in my usual –overthinking everything a million times– type of behaviour BUT I’ve decided this year I just need to go for the things I want to do. And not just that but do them without the pressure of wanting everything to be absolutely PERFECT, I mean hello Virgo here… So I know it will be a challenge but I’m doing my best to put an end to that habit and focus on what I want to get done.

This first video is very short & sweet as I’m still learning the whole editing process but I’ll work hard to keep improving! I am over the moon excited to start bringing everyone along with me this year, so without too much chit-chat here it is…

Let me know what you think and don’t forget to Subscribe! And as always thank you so much for stopping by…

5 TV shows I’ve binge-watched in the past few months and 5 TV shows I’m looking forward to this 2019!

This weekend was pretty gloomy here in SoCal. My life these past 6+ years in Newport Beach have kept me very spoiled weather wise and it turns out I can’t take 2 rainy days in a row –I mean, when did this happen?? I used to live in San Francisco, where I walked literally EVERYWHERE and I’d stay soaking wet for 6 hours straight because I was in college and never remembered to pack extra clothes in my backpack or was too lazy to carry them since I was already carrying heavy art boards all day. But Anyways… where did that Erika go?

Jump a few years later and I’m living back in Cali again (southern Cali) and can’t get my mind straight because the sun didn’t come out this weekend… lame! But that’s how I started looking for new tv shows to obsesses about. I was out at the beach for about 20-30min watching Tom and the guys race Traxxas cars but then we headed back inside, I opened a bottle of Rose, we put the fireplace on and ordered some Thai food (go to Mint Leaf if you live in Newp). And that’s when one of my friend’s recommended the show YOU –I know it’s been out for months but I had never given it a second thought, he did warn us it was addictive but all I heard was “the guy from Gossip girl is in it” and that’s all I needed to hear!

It is now Monday and I have officially finished the first season. Yup, I binge watched the whole thing in like 24hrs. I don’t want to over sell it though, keep in mind crappy that weather does help keep you comfy inside, but in my opinion this show was casted perfectly! It’s also fast paced, creepy but not scary (huge difference + very important if you know me) and it makes you think twice about how much we’re all sharing on social media. The only thing I regret is not reading the book first!

| Shows I binge watched in the past few months, in no particular order… |

  1. YOU (it’s on Netflix). I think I’ve shared enough, it’s up to you now <3
  2. Maniac (also on Netflix). I think it’s a very creative story! And okay, I’m not an expert but I love how it was filmed, it made me feel like I was in the story with them, also kinda futuristic which I’m surprised to be into lately and I happen to looove Emma Stone so this one was not hard to love.
  3. Sabrina (you guessed it, Netflix too). I swear this isn’t sponsored by Netflix, it’s only a coincidence!! Now, this one is a bit for my nostalgic side because I grew up loving Melissa Joan Heart and wanting to dress like her (don’t judge). I’ll admit the romance part of this story is a bit silly, or at least for me BUT I really liked the twist. It’s like a whole new story, but not. Am I confusing you? Maybe I just want you to go watch it too…
  4. The Paradise (on Netflix). The story takes place in the 1870’s in North of England and it is based on a novel by Emile Zola. The show is about the rise of this department store called The Paradise which offers every dreamy little trinket a woman might desire presented in the most aesthetically pleasing way. So what’s so interesting about it? Well, it may not be a big deal to us now we (or at least I) live for the right aesthetics 24/7, but it’s fun to see how this might have first been introduced back then. It’s a light, dreamy and simpler times type of show, not anywhere near as dark as the ones I mentioned above but every bit as entertaining.
  5. The Haunting of Hill House (on Netflix). If you watched my Instagram Stories while I was in Paris this Fall then you watched me getting spooked by this show haha. Basically Tom and I got stuck at our Airbnb for a day and half because of weather so we bought a ton of cheese, wine, pastries, put a pizza in the oven and binge watched the hell out of this!! First I have to say that I DO NOT KNOW HOW HE CONVINCED ME, I do not watch scary shows, movies or anything!! But the show is based on this novel from 1959 that goes through a trauma early on, the cast looked pretty good (I’m always annoying about that) so I gave in! And even though it messed up with my head for the rest of the week, I am so glad I watched it! It’s a thrilling story.

| Shows I’m looking forward to this 2019 |

  1. Game of Thrones (on HBO, season 8). Again, if you ever watch my Instagram Stories then you know Tom and I have been reading the books (or more like he’s reading them to me because he’s read them all), but if you haven’t then I’ll also tell you I LOVE the show! The actors are all to good, so I follow both stories. If you’ve never watched GOT, I’ll say it can get gory pretty fast which I’m not into to be honest, but for once I can move past it because the drama and struggle for power between the characters is that good! Oh and if you’re wondering, the books are 100 times more additive. This new season comes back April 2019.
  2. Big Little Lies (on HBO, season 2). I don’t know where to begin! I adored this show so much. The women in it killed it, just killed it with their performances. The story is based on the book by Liane Moriarty, which I haven’t read but the show is so binge-worthy! I was fascinated from episode one, it’s dark, it feels relatable (no I don’t have kids but we all know these types of people so it’s entertaining to watch) and it basically gave me the chills. I’m excited how they develop the story for season 2 and with Meryl Streep joining the crew I literally cannot contain myself.
  3. Good Omens (on Amazon prime). I guess it’s time for me to sign up because this show sounds like it will be right up my alley. This Fantasy drama tells the story of an angel and demon teaming up in order to prepare for an apocalypse. Honestly the first thing that drew me to look into it was a release photo for the upcoming show of both actors in their full costume –yup clothes and style are enough to get me into looking up anything! Beyond that I just liked the theme of it so we’ll see…
  4. Top of the Morning (on Apple’s first ever show). It first caught my interest because Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will be in it and Friends came rushing back to me! It looks like this time they will be playing news morning show hosts, but whatever role they play I am all in. So excited for this one! And sure I’m also curious to see what Apple is doing next.
  5. Grey’s Anatomy (on Hulu and Netflix, season 15). Did you think I could make all these lists and not include my favorite show of all times??! I truly hope this show never ends. Shonda Rhimes is genius! I’ve watched other shows she’s been a part of but none compare to this one. I began watching in college about 10 years ago and I’m still here, believe me it’s one of the gooood ones.

Bonus: La Casa de las Flores or The House of Flowers (en Netflix). // I wanted to include this one for those of you who speak Spanish (do not match the english version) because I love that over the years we are getting more options out there not just telenovelas, and this one is so great! It’s funny in a dark way and there’s plenty of drama but not the cringy-type.

If I’m missing a series you think I should watch let me know in the comments below, I’m always up for suggestions!!

Neutrals Never Get Old

Hi there! It’s been a min or two…

But I wanted to share my latest color combo of choice for the holidays that are not your typical red, white or green. Of course there isn’t anything wrong with those, but in case you wanted to switch things up a bit keep scrolling!

My go-to color combo because it’s a great
transition look  for  day to night!

I usually go for the “All White” when Christmas is getting closer but I love the idea of wearing neutrals instead. This time of year we tend to have more social commitments and personally the last thing I want to do is having to change from one event to the next so this color combo makes it easy to apply for any type of plans I have. As long as you have a few shades darker or lighter within the outfit it should keep it from being -a boring- look!

I included the powder pink bag to keep it fun! And of course because I am completely in love with the design, this Danielle Nicole bag is easily one of my favorites in my closet this season.

Acne Problems?? I Got Answers from La Roche-Posay Experts!

Let’s get right into it! Who hasn’t dealt with acne problems either in their teenage years, through college or worse, as adults now –I say worse because dealing with it past a certain age just seems cruel! When will it stop am I right? Well if you feel anything like me, you’re certainly not the only one so let’s see what I’ve found out and which products from their Effaclar line have helped me so far plus a few other tricks I’ve learned over the years…

I got invited to attend a Derm Class at the Mondrian Hotel here in Los Angeles with La Roche-Posay to learn about Acne from the experts. Keep scrolling to find out what I learned.

Days prior to attending, I asked on my Instagram Stories if anyone had questions about acne so I could find them out and I got plenty of insight! So for those who sent me messages and DMs, thank you and I hope this helps.  At the panel they invited Dr. Annie Chiu Cosmetic Dermatologist and she was kind enough to answer many of them.

First things first, it’s important to identify the types of cane out there! Here are the categories:

  1. Neonatal  2. Teen  3. Adult Acne  4. Hormonal Acne  5. Fungal Acne

Most of us have experienced at least one of these if not all and it is extremely important to identify which one or ones you are dealing with to be able to attack the root of the problem. According to the experts on this Derm Class I attended, it’s all about balance, finding the right products for your skin, using the right sunblock and of course healthy diet and habits. We all know this but how is this company different?? Well their formula has been heaven for my skin! I am being 100% honest.

The very first product I fell in love with was their Effaclar Eau Micellaire Water, I sometimes get lazy about removing my makeup so I loved this one because after a long day I lie in my bed with cotton pads and remove every last bit of it and my face doesn’t feel all oily and gross. But even better I don’t wake up with new zits so this product gets an A in my book! Anyways, that’s how I ended up looking deeper into this collection and I’m so glad I did because at their Derm Class I was gifted their famous sunscreen and it COMPLETELY lived up to the hype! Between you and me I was skeptical about this one because 90%  of the sunscreens I’ve have either given me more acne or just mess up my makeup and I hate that so much. But their Ultra Light Sunscreen is actually very light and non greasy at all, I swear I was shocked. You do have to re-apply every 2 hours like every other sunscreen out there —It would be nice if someone figured out a way to prolong this, but I truly live for this product so it’s not a big issue. And if you want acne and scar free skin then you know you need a reliable one.

Other points that were discussed included how important it is to find the right products for your skin and the correct way to use them. For example if you’re using a home derma roller check that you are not pressing down not the skin, you’re supposed to roll on the face, clean it frequently and change it every 6 months (no one had ever told me that).

But there’s also something I learned just last year at a skin care conference that is very worth looking into and that is the life of a given product. Let’s see, how many of us ever check the date our skincare products expire?? I sure didn’t used to but regulations mandate that it’s clearly marked on every product by the “jar icon” in the back but again, NO ONE had ever told me what that little jar meant! Now I frantically check this before I ever open a new product because whatever number is marked between 3, 6, 12, 24 is the number of months it is safe to use after first opening the product, anything past that means we could have a dangerous reaction on our skin such as dark spots, irritation or worse!

I’ve also learned that Tea Tree Oil is one of my best friends when I’m trying to get rid of a persistent pimple, I’ve been using it for over a year now and at the La Roche-Posay derm panel I asked Dr. Annie Chiu if she recommended using it on the face and she told me it was as long as I was mixing it with something like coconut oil so it doesn’t hurt the skin since it’s very potent. It works wonders! I also tried La Roche-Posay ‘s spot treatment and it worked great on my skin so I’ve added it to my routine for the annoying spots I need to get rid of quick.

Honestly I’m very impressed with the Effaclar line, truthfully I never find a collection where I love this many products, specially when it’s acne related. But I think they found just the right balance and I’m happy to say it more than lives up to the hype!

City Views + New Year Goals

The New Year always brings some sort of Zen into our lives or at least every year it does to mine. I feel a sense of peace, love all around and excitement for the new adventures ahead! I have many plans for this year and even thought there are limitations I am still dealing with, I won’t let it hold me back.

Last year was a tough one for me, I constantly felt frustrated with the things I can’t control, but I know all good things take time and God has His own plan, so I will focus on the good, have faith and keep my head up <3

To meet other creative people and celebrate their work and to stay close to what I really love, fashion. So there are many things I will be adding to this blog and in many ways get back to it’s roots! I am very excited to make some fun changes around here.

Update: My Skin Care Routine!

I have shared some of my favorite skin care products before, but since then I have found other ones that work great for me so I thought it was time for an update! I have combination skin and depending on the seasons I sometimes get really tiny bumps on my the sides of my face. I usually let it run its course, until now! And you will never guess where I found this miracle worker…

But first, this isn’t a sponsored post. Not to say that if it was, this wouldn’t be my real opinion. I am just excited I found products that actually work for me, so keep reading if you want to find out why <3

  • First a couple of products that I rely on every week. I don’t use these daily but definitely game changers on my skin care routine:

Skin Authority - Wander With Love - LA Blogger

1. Skin Authority Acne & Oil Control. This is the first product I try from them. It helps with acne cause bacteria and minimize oil. I get some acne around my cheeks, not crazy bad but I decided to try it! After 3 months of using it, I am convinced this is what helped my skin look much healthier. I don’t use it daily, I started with 3-4 times a week at first and now only once a week and that has been enough. My face has really cleared up and I am now much happier! I wouldn’t be writing about it if I wasn’t <3  I would encourage you to look into this brand, talking to one of their representatives like I did and find out about your specific needs.

2. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.  I first tried SK-II after receiving it in one of my goodie bags at a blogger event. I was very curious to see for myself and I am so glad I did! My skin looks more radiant, I can see the tone is more even and even a bit more firm. I honestly had my doubts about it but now it’s part of my routine. The only thing I don’t like is that it costs more than I care to spend on a beauty product but to me it does work so I will continue to use it. wander with love

MY DAILY ROUTINE:

1. First Aid Face Cleanser w/ Antioxidant Booster. This product is very very gentle on my skin but it gets rid of all the dirt and any makeup residue left from my makeup remover. I have been using it for over a year now and it’s still my No.1 cleanser.

Skin care update - Erikadvm

2. Plantioxidants Power Seed Menagerie Oil. I use this product daily and have been using it for 4 months now. I am beyond in love with it!! Like I said I have combiantion skin so I was scared of trying any oil but ever since I started using it my skin went from dull to radiant, fresh and hydrated. TRULY ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!

PLANTIOXIDANTS - LA BLOGGER - skin care routine

 3. First Aid Eye Duty Triple Remedy AM Gel Cream. I know I mentioned this brand above but again this isn’t a sponsored post, just products that I’ve been loving so I wanted to share. Anyways, this eye cream has made the skin around my eyes look much more illuminated and hydrated so I use it every day. Also it’s light weight so it doesn’t mess up my makeup afterward. I have been using this product for almost a year now and I am very happy with it!

4. Eucerin Baby ECZEMA RELIEF Body Creme. I use it for my Face, neck and chest area. Okay I realize I don’t have ECZEMA and that it’s a baby product BUT somehow this cream helped me get rid of the tiny little bumps I was talking about earlier. I don’t think it’s acne but it shows up from time to time depending on the seasons (very annoying). My mom has actually used this brand for years and I’ve had a good experience with their other products in the past, so I decided to try it.

I have been using it daily and I swear after day 1 results were immediately there. I couldn’t believe it! I don’t know how but this product gave my face a smoother look and feel and it’s crazy to think I found it at my local supermarket. After spending so much money on products that never worked, I finally got rid of this problem so I had to tell you guys!! Plus even though this product is rich, it does not feel pasty or oily. My skin feels moisturized and so healthy! It’s now a favorite in my drawer.

5. As far as Sunscreen depending on the sun exposure I will be under that day, I still use my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face & Body Stick SPF 70 (which I posted about before) and I have recently been using the IT Cosmetics CC Cream SPF50 plus the powder for touch ups from IT Cosmetics as well, in shade Medium Tan. IN LOVE WITH THESE 3!!

MY NIGHT CARE ROUTINE:

I use the same face cleanser I mentioned above and then…

1. 100% Pure Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidants Potent PM Serum. I cannot say enough good things about this brand! I love it all! From their makeup products like their lipsticks (MY CURRENT FAVORITES) to their skin care products, I am obsessed. They are commited to creating the purest products and the results have been clear to me! Truly one of the best brands I discovered this year.

100% PURE ERIKADVM - WANDER WITH LOVE

2. ESTÉE LAUDER Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II. On the contrary from my day eye cream, I love how rich this product is! When it comes to night time creams I feel like heavier ones are better for my skin. And I love the results I get from this one. It’s on the more expensive side for such a small container, but I personally feel like it’s been worth it. That said, I always encourage you to try for yourself! Maybe ask for a sample and see if this is right for you.

3. For moisturizer I have recently been using Eucerin Baby ECZEMA Relief Body Creme mentioned above since its been working so well on my skin, but for the past 7 months I had been using Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream. It’s been so amazing on my skin that I still carry it everywhere I go. I will continue to use it and begin going back and forth between both.

These are all products that I have come to love. I believe in every one of them and I hope they help others too.

As always thank you for stopping by!

Polka Dots For Summer

I am so happy I can wear dresses everyday again! Specially midi style, they are so fun to wear! And Target has been coming up with new and exciting collaborations with some of my favorite brands. This past weekend I attended Coachella 2017 Week 1 and it was so fun! I attended a couple of private parties, had fun with some of my other blogger friends and got to wear cute outfits. What’s not to love??

Many people attend for different reasons, but being a Fashion Blogger I think Coachella is a great opportunity to express your best sense of style! To try new things and just have fun with what you wear. Specially since I don’t live in San Francisco anymore where I could experiment everyday so here’s what I wore…

I wore this look to the POPSUGAR party and loved how easy it was to put together. The top is actually a pearl bralette from Forever 21, as are the necklaces and the powder blue shorts. I just loved how it went together and let’s face it, the desert was over 100 degrees that day so I needed the right outfit to be able to enjoy the weekend.

I paired it with this cute Joh Apparel blue jacket with fringe at the sides to keep things fun and interesting and added my new loves… My platform blush sandals from Kaanas. I’m obsessed with these! Plus they are really comfortable so they were perfect for Coachella <3

Layering necklaces is always a must and I actually had a pearl choker that ended up going perfect with the bralette! So it looks like it’s part of it when in reality they are two separate items, just having fun with the outfit.

Rachel Zoe Coachella 2017

This look was for the Rachel Zoe or as they called it Zoeasis party! I had such a good time here. They set it up at this beautiful garden with roses everywhere! It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland at the queen’s castle but somehow mixed up with the fun Coachella vibes, perfect decor.

For this look I wore a BEBE jumpsuit, my PARED Eyewear (my new faves), added some checkers and arm jewellery and good to go! Honestly I really wanted some pop of color and this was just what I was looking for. I was comfy all day but still in that festival mood I was going for 😉 What did you guys think?

I took a few videos of the weekend that I will upload pretty soon, so stay tuned for more!

As always, thank you for reading.

Spring Getaway Look

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. Wearing light colors and fabrics, spending my days outside enjoying the sun, it makes my days so much better! Plus it’s finally the perfect weather for wearing rompers again and you already know how much I loved them. Like this one from Bishop & Young. The print is very subtle and beautiful and the colors complement each other perfectly. I’m in love with it! And it’s the perfect piece to pack on a little weekend getaway. Keep reading to find more key pieces to pack…

One of my best friends Melissa  , helped me take these amazing photos and do my makeup. We had the best time driving around and findings cute spots to shoot, hanging out all day and having sushi <3 (our favorite thing to do!) It was just a really great day. And I love how these turned out! She’s a great photographer and makeup artist. Right now she is working on getting an account focussed on her creative side, so I’ll share it with you guys when it’s ready so you can check her amazing work!

Now, about achieving the perfect little “getaway look”. Here are 4 simple steps you can follow:

  1. Get a statement piece. In this case the hat would be mine, I like covering my face from the sun as much as I can. Plus it makes the outfit more interesting!
  2. Finding a cute but comfortable look. Loose clothes always help get those vacation vibes going. Plus you will be able to enjoy your trip better!
  3. Go light on the accessories. Just find a couple pieces that go with most of your outfits, that way you can mix and layer as you go. Gorjana always have the cutest!
  4. Comfortable shoes without sacrificing style! I always find that wedges are the perfect travel shoe. They give you the height but you can still walk in them all day and not get tired. Plus they work perfect day or night, so you save space! Win-win situation, right?
