Denim and a white Tee is the definition of effortlessly cool. It’s a classic that has survived over decades and decades of fashion trends and that I believe will continue to be part of our wardrobe for many more years to come! The key to this look is to find the perfect fit in your denim and my go to of course is Levi’s. No matter what body type you have this iconic brand has most likely made the right fit for you, you just have to hunt a little but that’s the fun part! Next is to find the right Tee to pair it with, I like my T-shirts as soft as they can be and not too baggy. My absolute favorites come from this brand called AMVI, they are vintage inspired high quality basics and let me tell you I love them!! I first found out about them when I first started blogging last year, they sent me a couple of their basics to try out and I became obsessed. I even bought my boyfriend a couple because they are so comfy to wear, the quality is so good and that is 100% my true feelings about the brand. Of course you can pair it with any white Tee you know and love:) The point is get the right fit for you.
I am wearing the high-waisted, straight leg with classic wash and raw hem Levi’s. I specially loved that last part because the raw edges make it more interesting! And since I was going with the classics, I could not forget my favorite Raybans as well. You’ve seen me wear these way too many times but I cannot get over them, sorry!
Summer is always the most awaited season! Specially here living in SoCal, people tend to gather more often since its so nice out and life just gets more fun. I really love it, but I also find myself missing my favourite little black dresses. There’s just something about Summer that makes me feels like the LBD is not quite right. But what about last-minute events, drinks with the girls or date night with your guy! I never realised how much I relied on it. So I did a little hunt and I have found the perfect summer version! It has cap sleeves and open fishnet insets to accent the waist line, but the thing I loved the most was the crew neckline. Honestly, the last thing you want it is a low neckline when the dress is already short, so this was exactly was I was looking for!
I also love the mix of fabrics on this dress, I think it makes it more fun! I paired it with nude stilettos, wore my hair wavy for effect and I’m ready for a fun evening out <3
Lately I’ve been reading a lot about blogging, other blogger’s experience in the industry, how they started and how they continue to grow. We all have a different thing we bring to the table, different styles, we come from a different background and I find it very interesting! So I got inspired and would like to share what’s worked for me. I am NO expert but when I first started blogging almost a year ago, I wished there was someone out there who could give me real tips on how to do it. So every month I’ll try to share little tips and tricks I’ve learned and help you grow.
For starters let me say that its not as glamorous as it seems! Your job as a fashion blogger is to inspire people, to show them how to style current trends and to make it seem effortless. When there’s nothing effortless about it. Truth is, I always end up changing in my car in between shoots, I put myself out there every single day and reach out to others and I will spend a considerable amount of time taking the perfect photo with the right angle and light in the hope to inspire others. But even after that, when it comes to Instagram we all use apps and tricks to enhance our photos, so these are the ones I use:
EDITING
PicsArt: I love it! Easy to use and somehow at the end of editing, the quality of your photo magically improves. I use this one a lot. Then..
Facetune: I use this one to whiten photos, I hate it when I have white details in my photo and they came out yellow. So use the whiten brush. Also you can smooth skin which makes it look a little more professional. DO NOT OVER DO IT. You don’t want to look fake and honestly, perfect is boring so just use it only when necessary.
VSCO: I use this one to plan my future Instagram posts. If you go to library, they have the same layout as Instagram so it makes it easier for me to see if my next photo will go with the aesthetic of my feed.
Retouch: I use this one a lot because I shoot in dirty LA all the time and no matter how careful you are, when going through photos I always end up seeing dark spots on the ground and it bothers me like you wouldn’t believe. So I use clone stamp and brush to clean it up or clone any part of the wall that gives me trouble.
And yes I do this with almost every single photo on my feed.
ENGAGEMENT
But that is not enough. Posting a pretty photo is just step one. You need to have real engagement with your followers. Don’t be lazy, if people take the time to write a comment on your photo (blog or social media accounts) then show appreciation and answer them. I get busy and sometimes I’ll take a while to reply but I try to do it as much as I can. Also don’t just say ”Aw Cute” and expect people to care. If you are leaving a comment, say something real and show your personality! Its an opportunity to show them who yo are. Remember, people can always tell when you’re being fake so go for real engagement. Another thing I’ve learned is that you shouldn’t be afraid to ask people questions! If I like the way someone edited their blog post or have a photography question, I’ll email them and in a respectful and honest way, I will compliment their work and ask any questions I may have. Most of the time people get back to me and are truly happy to see that their work and effort is not going unnoticed, so don’t be shy.
NETWORKING
Everyone and I do mean everyone should care about this. But specially if you’re starting out because you should definitely reach out to local bloggers around you, again don’t be shy! Thats the first thing I did. Go to events in your community and when you do, don’t spend the entire time in a corner staring at your phone, TALK to people. I’ve met some of my best friends this way; you need to get your name out there. Hey, Im an introvert so trust me I know how hard and intimidating it can be, BUT once you start it becomes so much easier! Now I don’t even think about it. I love meeting new and talented people, it inspires me.
Quick story…. I remember the first time I attended an event by myself. It was Create and Cultivate last year. I was supposed to go with a blogger friend and in the end she couldn’t make it. Did I miss the event?? NO. I had only been blogging for 3 months, was under 500 followers on Instagram and still figuring things out. But I decided I wanted to meet people that were doing the same thing I was doing, so I didn’t get intimidated and went. I mean I was still a little nervous because it was a huge event and there were some serious bloggers there. But to my surprise, from the moment I parked and started walking over I had already met 4 bloggers, easy as that. And as the day went on I got so many business cards (of course I followed up), met so many interesting people and got to meet my favorites like Aimee Song from Song Of Style, Julia Engel from Gal Meets Glam and Devon from Devon Rachel. They gave me some of the best advise I’ve ever gotten and it was nice to find out that they were some of the nicest and most down to earth women I’ve ever met.
It’s still January, the beginning of the year so get out your calendars and mark down every single event you can find! Trust me its the best way to connect with people so you dont want to miss out.
Next time I’ll get more into detail with things I’ve learned over this past year. For now I leave you with my season transitional look. But check out 5 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Blogging post if you are looking for more tips on how to blog.

How’s your Monday?? I am starting my week full of energy and motivated to reach my goals before the year ends! I have big and exciting plans for 2016 so in honor of that I’ve decided to wear all white… a color associated with clean starts. And so I began with a little makeover to my website! I’ve been thinking about re-designing it for a while and Im very excited about how its turning out. This is just the first of many changes to come and Im so ready for it that Im practically jumping up and down of excitement for the future. Want to live your dreams? then you have to dress for it <3
And speaking of which… I want to share with you this week’s look! I am absolutely obsessed with this Lucy Paris White Eye Knit shirt/skirt. Its the perfect transition look for Fall in my lovely SoCal, where cool days are still settling and Fall is slowly moving in. Besides, who says you can only wear dark colors for Fall? It gets boring right? That’s why I enjoy switching it up a little. And to add the final touch, I went for a red lipstick. It always gives it that fierce and more confident look that every woman needs to get through the day. Try it, I know you’ll love it.
Im sending positive vibes to everyone and truly hope you have a week!
Hope everyone’s week is going great. Im finally back from my little trip to Cancun and I’ve been dying to share it with you…
This summer I’ve been taking short trips to different parts of Mexico and its been a lot of fun. To be honest, my original plan for this summer was a bit different but things never go as we wish them to. But even though I’ve been really sad about it, I still had the opportunity to visit my beautiful country, so Im grateful for that and I’ve tried to make the most of it <3 I don’t know if it was the tropical weather, the crystal clear water or maybe the fact that I got to see my family, but somehow this trip felt like a big giant hug. With that in mind, I know that traveling to touristy places can be tricky but since I grew up there I still have a few favorite spots that I love to visit;) For those of you who aren’t familiar with the area I have a few tips:
Isla mujeres is a lovely island to spend the day, I like Lancheros Beach. It has the most translucent water known to mankind, you get to swim with whale sharks which I’ve done before in Cabo and was amazing, now imagine the experience in the clearest water! Plus you’ll find the underwater museum which I have yet to try –if my sensitive ears will allow it.
If you’re going to do the whole natural park thing I absolutely recommend Xcaret! It is such an amazing place, you get to visit beautiful animals, swim in underground rivers and caves, enjoy the beach, get to explore and learn about the mayan town and the night show is a must.. this last one represents Mexico’s culture 100%, I love it! Don’t waste you time with Xel-Ha, its not as big or beautiful, there’s way less things to do and its a longer drive. Xplore is not my favorite but if you’ve tried one park and are looking to continue the experience I would go for this one instead;)
Cenote Dos Ojos is a natural swimming whole with rocky sides, much like a cave. Its gorgeous to explore, bring snorkel equipment, its a bit of drive but its really beautiful! Tulum is full of natural cenotes, so you have plenty of options this is just one of them.
I’ll post more photos and tips in the near future but for now I’ll share with you some of my favs from this trip! With such beauty around me I was inspired to wear all white for this trip to let the beautiful greens stand out;) The first is a beach cover up with embroidered flowers on the sides that I simply loved, its so fresh and comfortable to wear, perfect for a quick getaway. The second outfit is a white linen dress for a day, a lifesaver for any vacation spot you visit;) And the third outfit is my favorite, denim + stripes, this basic goes perfect with a day at sea…
I would have loved to stay more days in my little Paradise, but unfortunately reality kicked in telling me its finally time to move to my new home this Saturday!! Im overwhelmed and excited at the same time so we’ll see how it goes…
I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a great rest of your week! And as always thanks so much for reading…
