As you can see Im still obsessing over Blush tones, so this time I wanted to pair it with a Black & White look. Its a simple but clean look that works for day or night! The jacket and flats are from Zara and the dress is from a company called SheIn that I found through Instagram. I like it because every time I go on their website they always have a million different looks to chose from, sort of like Forever 21 where you feel like there’s 100 new styles everyday but SheIn is even cheaper! Its fast fashion done right. I’ve been loving it so I thought I would share it with you guys.
Back to the outfit though.. It all started a few weeks ago when I found these intricate blush flats, they are not exactly my type (problem) but I thought they were so cute! You see, when I go shopping, I usually like doing it “by looks” that is I make sure that everything Im buying goes well together, I buy “outfits” not just 1 item at a time or randoms. Of course when I get home I will mix and match with my closet a hundred different ways, BUT on those days when I don’t have time to put a look together or I simply don’t feel inspired, I already have full looks that I can just throw on really quick and just go. Its a little trick that has saved me hours and hours of frustration from not knowing what to wear. And I will specially do this when I see a piece of clothing or accessory I wouldn’t normally wear but still want, why? Because by pairing it with something right then and there, I avoid having an item in my closet that I will never dare to wear. Which is what happened with these shoes! I broke my own rule and bought them on their own, so of course since its not quite my style, when I got home I didn’t like them with anything, so frustrating. I was considering returning them when my SheIn dress arrived a couple of days after, I got so happy! Does anyone else get as excited as I do for clothes arriving in the mail?? My obsession with fashion can be easily mocked, I know! But Im used to it 🙂 Anyways, I had been looking for the perfect transition dress for Fall and when I saw the stripes on this one I had to have it! Its the perfect fit-fabric and I love how the details begin from the waist down because it makes it look like a two piece, which I always love! In the end, my impulsive shoe buy worked out perfect <3 but next time you go shopping try doing it by outfits, you will see what I mean and shopping will never be the same!
I think this dress is sold out but I’ve linked more striped dresses below and they are all under $25.00 <3 Click on the image to be directed:

As always thank you for reading!
I can’t believe Summer is basically over! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, partly because I don’t have ac in my home and partly because I miss wearing my beautiful boot collection (can’t help it, sorry). But now that its around the corner, I figured I would welcome the new season with a “Sail Away With Me”.. to Fall-post.
I’ve been reflecting about how time keeps going by so fast and thinking about how many steps we’ve actually taken to move forward with our dreams. It’s easy to get distracted with life, I know I’ve been there a few times! But I don’t want to lose focus, I want to always keep moving forward. A new season always brings a fresh start and we should make the most of it, right? However, if you’re not feeling the drive think about how much your life can change in a year. For example, when I thought about how much mine has changed from exactly a year ago, I felt unbelievably happy! Not because everything went by so smoothly, on the contrary.. I made big life decisions about where I wanted to live, had some health issues to deal with, then had personal decisions involving my family, but then more happy things came along! For instance I had to get serious about how far I wanted to take this blog, which to me was very exciting. Also a guy with the kindest heart came into my life, he later became my boyfriend and is now someone I love very very much. I look at this entire year and I can’t help but feel very grateful, for the good things and the bad! All of this in one little year so think about the possibilities if we only focus and work towards what we want, the rest always find its way:)
So whether it’s a new challenge or an exciting new path for the blog, I want to welcome all change I want to make the most out of what’s left of this year and it will be okay because I will be wearing a beautiful hat on my head to keep me grounded and beautiful boots to take me where I want to go, all in style of course! A girl has to look nice even when she’s busy. Now, my wardrobe won’t change dramatically next week because lets face it.. I live in sunny So Cal. But in the coming posts I will be talking about transition looks, the must-have items for Fall, more blogging tips and many more fun things! So follow along..
To welcome Fall season I decided to wear a white jacket and my favorite brown leather booties. I like pairing these with white shorts to balance out the look, I think it keeps it more casual and adding a straw hat makes it more fun!
With this Summer heat I try to make the most out of wearing dresses. It’s so much easier to slip on a dress and head out the door than to style a whole jeans, or short and top combo am I right? Besides, sooner than we think Fall will be here and it will be all about layering. So for a while now I’ve been obsessed with midi length everything! Whether its dresses or skirts, I feel like it’s the most flattering look and so easy to wear. The midi is the dressier version of the maxi dress, which I also love and will be posting about soon! But the trick to this style is to wear it with heels so it helps balance out the height issue. If you are short wear it with very delicate scrappy heels, if you’re tall you can get away with a chunkier heel like mine. Take a look!
Whichever way you decide to style it, I am a firm believer that this is your best friend this Summer! You can see me wear the midi style in previous posts like Here and Here. As you can tell, I’m a fan <3 What about you guys, what are your style go to’s this Season? I would love to know.
This summer I am very open to try new styles! I want to give my closet a a bit of a spin and this Spring/Summer Bomber Jackets have made a surprising come back. And I say surprising because I never and I do mean literally NEVER thought I would try this trend. Bomber jackets always bothered me to be honest but with the thought in mind of trying something new and getting out of my comfort zone for you guys, I’ thought I would give it a try! And guess what?? I loved it. It’s such a lovely and fun look to wear. I particularly loved this one because of the flower print which you guys know I’m all up for and the lines along the sleeves are a nice touch!
Bomber jackets have gone from a bulky silhouette with heavy fabrics, to a more slim style with more delicate materials. You see them in silks and satins or with prints like mine. And how you style it is up to you! You can either throw it on top of a little black dress for a night out or you can style it the way I wore it, with your favourite jeans and sleek heels. The point is to make it your own. I added a bright pink lipstick to keep it fun and I’m ready to go.
I want to know what you guys think. Are you a fan of this jacket or do you think it should go to the back of your closets? Let me know on the comments below..
Summer official began this Monday June 20 and to welcome it I wanted to post the Perfect Summer Dress! I honestly live in dresses. I love them and I have blogged about this obsession before.. I just love their comfort and feminine aspect to them. So no matter if its long, short or midi, I adore them all!
Now, I am very very sad to say that this past week I’ve lost not one, but two photo shoot sessions. I had uploaded the sets to my MacBook Pro at the same time and when finished I hit delete from my Camera only to find that they actually never saved to my computer! You have no idea how sad I was to realise this. It was a lot of work to have deleted and I had actually loved these photos! Luckily I had saved a couple to my iPhone for IG posts, however if the quality is a bit off I apologise for it!! It won’t happen again. The second look I will have to re-shoot, but oh well these things happen.
Now back to today’s look…
I thought long before choosing this dress as my Summer intro. I wanted something fun but not your typical bright coloured dress, I didnt want anything too short or a maxi dress. I wanted something different, so when I came across this one I absolutely fell in love with it! Its not the usual white summer dress because it has the slim vertical stripes, but it doesnt make me think “nautical look” and its midi length which is perfect! And I love the little cutout-bow tie detail in front. It is by far my best investment of the season because I know I will be wearing this ALL summer long. I DID NOT GET PAID TO POST THIS LOOK. I truly 100% love it, its by ASTR and bought it at Nordstrom with my own money. So trust me when I say its really lovely to wear 🙂 I paired it gold accesoires and my favorite heels of this season. They are my peep toe strappy heels in 3 color way from Zara. Again really affordable and I thought the play of lines on these would look great with the ones from my dress, so this is it! Simple but beautiful, great for summer season…
What are your thoughts on this look? Love? Hate? Let me know what you think on the comments below! And as always thank you for reading.
Guys sorry for the lack of posts this past week! I have friends visiting from out-of-town and I have been showing them around and enjoying their company. But I’m back now and ready to start the week with a fresh blog post!
Now, I’ve always been a firm believer that comfy doesn’t have to look ugly. Even if you have a busy day you can still look chic! I chose a nude pleated hem jacket, with a strappy beige top and midi twill pants. I swear it is like wearing pajamas! I know all three items are very loose and flowy but with the mix of different lengths (meaning the oversized jacket and the shorter pants) it balances each other out. Now the shoe situation… I am a fan of heels, so Im sorry but I feel like heels are a must no matter the mood! And these are actually comfy. Plus they are the finishing touch, after all it is a work day! You cant really add sneakers right? So just choose your comfiest heels and meet your week goals <3 Let me know your go to’s on comfort…
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about personal style. With the festival season around the corner, its hard not to be trend crazy over all these boho styles. But does that mean I need to change my whole wardrobe for it?? The answer is no. Here are 3 tips on how to survive it:
“Its all about understanding what style is best for you.“ I like sticking to what works for me and Im a strong believer that you shouldn’t buy into every single trend out there. Understanding your personal style is so important! You don’t want to lose your identity over all the “must have items” everyone says you need.
“One, maybe two new items.” A little detail here and there keeps things fun. Like the choker coming back.. am I right?? Who didn’t love it in their teens years, I know I did! BUT don’t go trend crazy.. pay attention to what works for you and don’t let the festival season leave you broke, fast trends are never worth it!
“Learning balance.” You can adopt a trend that feels right for you but you don’t need to go ahead and buy the whole store. Like this crochet lace top, its perfect for the season.. carefree but not too hippie so I know I’ll be wearing it many more times this year!
Try it! You will make a better impression by sticking to your style and your wallet with definitely thank you for it.
Lately I’ve been reading a lot about blogging, other blogger’s experience in the industry, how they started and how they continue to grow. We all have a different thing we bring to the table, different styles, we come from a different background and I find it very interesting! So I got inspired and would like to share what’s worked for me. I am NO expert but when I first started blogging almost a year ago, I wished there was someone out there who could give me real tips on how to do it. So every month I’ll try to share little tips and tricks I’ve learned and help you grow.
For starters let me say that its not as glamorous as it seems! Your job as a fashion blogger is to inspire people, to show them how to style current trends and to make it seem effortless. When there’s nothing effortless about it. Truth is, I always end up changing in my car in between shoots, I put myself out there every single day and reach out to others and I will spend a considerable amount of time taking the perfect photo with the right angle and light in the hope to inspire others. But even after that, when it comes to Instagram we all use apps and tricks to enhance our photos, so these are the ones I use:
| EDITING |
PicsArt: I love it! Easy to use and somehow at the end of editing, the quality of your photo magically improves. I use this one a lot. Then..
Facetune: I use this one to whiten photos, I hate it when I have white details in my photo and they came out yellow. So use the whiten brush. Also you can smooth skin which makes it look a little more professional. DO NOT OVER DO IT. You don’t want to look fake and honestly, perfect is boring so just use it only when necessary.
VSCO: I use this one to plan my future Instagram posts. If you go to library, they have the same layout as Instagram so it makes it easier for me to see if my next photo will go with the aesthetic of my feed.
Retouch: I use this one a lot because I shoot in dirty LA all the time and no matter how careful you are, when going through photos I always end up seeing dark spots on the ground and it bothers me like you wouldn’t believe. So I use clone stamp and brush to clean it up or clone any part of the wall that gives me trouble.
And yes I do this with almost every single photo on my feed.
| ENGAGEMENT |
But that is not enough. Posting a pretty photo is just step one. You need to have real engagement with your followers. Don’t be lazy, if people take the time to write a comment on your photo (blog or social media accounts) then show appreciation and answer them. I get busy and sometimes I’ll take a while to reply but I try to do it as much as I can. Also don’t just say ”Aw Cute” and expect people to care. If you are leaving a comment, say something real and show your personality! Its an opportunity to show them who yo are. Remember, people can always tell when you’re being fake so go for real engagement. Another thing I’ve learned is that you shouldn’t be afraid to ask people questions! If I like the way someone edited their blog post or have a photography question, I’ll email them and in a respectful and honest way, I will compliment their work and ask any questions I may have. Most of the time people get back to me and are truly happy to see that their work and effort is not going unnoticed, so don’t be shy.
| NETWORKING |
Everyone and I do mean everyone should care about this. But specially if you’re starting out because you should definitely reach out to local bloggers around you, again don’t be shy! Thats the first thing I did. Go to events in your community and when you do, don’t spend the entire time in a corner staring at your phone, TALK to people. I’ve met some of my best friends this way; you need to get your name out there. Hey, Im an introvert so trust me I know how hard and intimidating it can be, BUT once you start it becomes so much easier! Now I don’t even think about it. I love meeting new and talented people, it inspires me.
Quick story…. I remember the first time I attended an event by myself. It was Create and Cultivate last year. I was supposed to go with a blogger friend and in the end she couldn’t make it. Did I miss the event?? NO. I had only been blogging for 3 months, was under 500 followers on Instagram and still figuring things out. But I decided I wanted to meet people that were doing the same thing I was doing, so I didn’t get intimidated and went. I mean I was still a little nervous because it was a huge event and there were some serious bloggers there. But to my surprise, from the moment I parked and started walking over I had already met 4 bloggers, easy as that. And as the day went on I got so many business cards (of course I followed up), met so many interesting people and got to meet my favorites like Aimee Song from Song Of Style, Julia Engel from Gal Meets Glam and Devon from Devon Rachel. They gave me some of the best advise I’ve ever gotten and it was nice to find out that they were some of the nicest and most down to earth women I’ve ever met.
It’s still January, the beginning of the year so get out your calendars and mark down every single event you can find! Trust me its the best way to connect with people so you dont want to miss out.
Next time I’ll get more into detail with things I’ve learned over this past year. For now I leave you with my season transitional look. But check out 5 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Blogging post if you are looking for more tips on how to blog.
Winter in Newport Beach is actually pretty nice so I couldn’t help but go with this midi cutout romper and favorite mules. I love the light colors for this time of year and Im preparing for Spring so light fabric, light hues and light everything!
What I wore:
White Cutout Midi Jumpsuit from Zara | Brown Mules from Zara | Suspended Crystal Bracelet from The Peach Box and Latch Bangle out of stock but similar Here | Brown Leather Bag from Zara | All found on Sale <3
I had the best time shooting this look, I hope you guys like it! Also feel free to ask me any questions below. As always thank you for reading,
So this week got a lot busier than I expected and all the rush has me on a black mood style. There’s just something about black that makes me feel more productive and whiling to get stuff done;) Plus it converts easily for night plans, so what’s not to love right? I also got inspired by this gorgeous new bag from Nadia Gabriella. This brand is a women’s accessories line that specializes in acrylic design and I just fell in love with it! Everything from them is so beautiful and unique! Plus, the edgy and clean cut design of this bag goes perfect with my new trench coat (my latest obsession btw) so I had to go for it. After that all I needed were my fav black ripped jeans and ankle boots, and my outfit is complete.
With the end of summer things are finally getting crossed off my list. My new place is starting to feel like home, all my paper work is done and delivered, I was able to attend all the fun summer events;) and now I can get new projects started! It’s been a stressful couple of months but if I’ve learned anything is that I need some ‘Me’ time, where I can focus on my goals and keep moving forward. I have many plans for next year so that will be taking much of my time, but I’ll try to keep up with my blog posts;)
For now I wanted to share with you my latest find, the Girlfriend Jeans. This fun reinvention has been around for a while, but I had yet to find the perfect pair.. until now! For those of you who are not familiar with the concept, they are the slightly slimmer version of the Boyfriend Jeans. The cut is just above the ankles, still a baggy look only more flattering and… I’m in love with them! To be honest, boyfriend jeans never fit me right but this new version is just what I’ve been looking for. I decided to style it with a button down shirt and wedges to balance out the baggy look;)
What I wore:
Button Down Shirt from H&M | Distressed Girlfriend Jeans from Brandy Melville | Black Wedges from Zara
How about you.. what’s your favorite cut? I’d love to hear your thoughts so don’t be afraid to comment below;) Thanks so much for reading..
